HBO Sneak Peek

This JUST received this minute from HBO:

"HBO will present – for the first time – a 15-minute sneak peek of the first episode of a new series when GAME OF THRONES EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW debuts SUNDAY, APRIL 3 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Following this one-time-only play, GAME OF THRONES EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW will be available immediately on hbo.com and HBO Go, and will be available on HBO On Demand beginning Monday, April 8.

"The HBO presentation of GAME OF THRONES EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW will be followed by the debut of Part Three of the HBO Miniseries presentation MILDRED PIERCE at 9:15 p.m. (ET/PT).

"Based on the popular book series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” by George R.R. Martin, the fantasy series GAME OF THRONES chronicles an epic struggle for power set in a vast and violent fantasy kingdom. The ensemble cast includes Mark Addy, Sean Bean, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Fairley, Lena Headey, Kit Harington and Aidan Gillen. The show was shot at the Paint Hall Studio in Belfast, Northern Ireland, as well as at various locations in Northern Ireland and Malta.

"GAME OF THRONES launches its ten-episode season SUNDAY, APRIL 17, exclusively on HBO.

"GAME OF THRONES was created by David Benioff & D.B. Weiss; executive produced by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss; co-executive producers, Carolyn Strauss, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis, Ralph Vicinanza and George R.R. Martin; producers, Mark Huffam and Frank Doelger.
Directors include Brian Kirk, Daniel Minahan, Alan Taylor and Tim Van Patten; writers include David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman, Jane Espenson and George R.R. Martin."

So... cool... we'll all get to see fifteen minutes from the first episode two weeks earlier than planned.

(And MILDRED PIERCE looks kickass too)

This is like the methadone clinic opening an hour early!

Best response ever!
(though it might have been over the line a bit) Great analogy!

I imagine that by April 16th I'll be more than ready for a full meal, but it is nice that they are ramping it up steadily.

they made a mistake, it's only 15 minuzes of the first episode...

Maybe I'm thick. Maybe it just seems too damn good to be true, but is this in fact the full first episode that they're airing on April 3, not just an extended preview? I just want to make sure I know what I'm getting excited for.

Not a mistake, exactly. It's in the text of the original release, but only implied -- airs at 9:00, followed my MILDRED PIERCE at 9:15.

right, EW is reporting the preview will be only 15 mins

(My nine years old sister : "Who's that little boy with the bow?" "It's Bran." "Oh, he's so cute.")

Does that mean others countries will be able to see too ?

Yep, via streaming from Making Game of Thrones. Possibly also Youtube, if HBO loads it over there, which would not surprise me.

We have kept paying for HBO just to see this adaption. We like "True Blood" but would wait until DVDs come out to see the next season; however, we HAVE to see GoT the second it becomes available! :-)

My only question is WHERE to watch this.
I don't have HBO, because I got rid of my cable box. But I want to pay for the show in the highest quality presentation available to me. So, will that be iTunes season pass HD? I don't know much about hbo.com or HBOgo, so I need to dig deeper.

Re: My only question is WHERE to watch this.
1: Does HBO even put it's in-season shows on I-Tunes?
2: Did anyone clarify what the "Sneek Peek" is? It's only 15 Minutes long so it can't be the entire first episode...
Mar. 4th, 2011 07:32 pm (UTC)
does sneak peak really mean whole episode or does it mean a few minutes of the episode?
Mar. 4th, 2011 07:32 pm (UTC)
Jane Espenson! I didn't realise she was writing!! Awesome!!!
Mar. 4th, 2011 07:43 pm (UTC)
yeah, i looked it up. it's 15 minutes, not he whole episode. still great though.

Gotta Get HBO Sooner!
Now I have to move up my start date on getting HBO! I was waiting until mid-April so as to maximize my time with it, in case finances dictate that I cancel when the series stops airing new episodes.

agree with lampster - this definitely means I need to move up my HBO start date!!! I am so excited, I can't sit still..>!!!!!!!

Looking forward to it!!!
Now the countdown to the 15 minute sneak peek begins!! And so happy to hear that you've released a firm publication date, Mr. Martin! Life just doesn't get any better than this...2011 is definitely already filed in the "awesome" category.
