The Wolf and the Lion...

... is the title of this week's episode of GAME OF THRONES on HBO.

Here's a little taste of it, an exchange between Ned Stark and Ser Barristan the Bold at the Hand's Tourney in King's Landing.

Ser Barristan fans might be interested to know that he has a big part in A DANCE WITH DRAGONS. In fact (drum roll, please), he becomes a viewpoint character.

Aww... Don't post spoilers like that. Part of the fun of a new book is to see who the new PoV characters are.

Apparently it's something people ask for. Everyone knew who the ACoKs povs would be ahead of time so they asked for ASoS too. I don't think it's bad, especially since we know that all POV characters promise us is that they will be there in the beginning, it says nothing about the length of time they survive ;)

Ser Barristan is cool!
And I hope in his chapters he'll be thinking a little bit about the old times with Rhaegar, Ser Arthur Dayne,... perhaps he'll even remember Ser Duncan the Tall!!

Yeah. The only thing I did not like about the Deanarys storyline is that it had only one POV, so that you only got one insight into the thing and all that.

Now it might just get (a lot more) interesting.

I'm so excited to hear Barristan will be a viewpoint character in ADWD! I'm new to your work and I'm currently reading the series for the first time. I already can't wait to learn more about Barristan the Bold! :D

Barristan! Such a great character! Always in the middle of situations not of his making, somehow holding on to his honor and nobility. Now, he's finally chosen his own destiny! What awaits!?

Dare we hope that we will get some serious back-story in his chapters?
