Alive and Kicking...

... but feebly, feebly.

Last night's signing in Ljubljana drew 2000 (rough estimate). How I survived I will never know. If I did. I want to sleep for a week. My hand is fine (thanks for asking), but my brain has turned to mush. I want to sleep for a week. Instead I have another interview in an hour. And sometime later today Ty and I begin the long process of flying home. Which has already grown longer and more complicated thanks to the cancellation of the flight that was to be the first leg of our homeward journey...

But never mind.

Thanks to everyone who came out. You were wonderful. And amazingly patient. Standing in line for five hours for my illegible scrawl is an act of valor.

Glory to you
I waited in line for four hours (3h and 15 minutes if I dont count coming early to be among the first) and it was great meeting you. Thank you for your patience, I know there was a lot of us. And thank you for signing my books. I only wish I had more time to talk to you :)

I'm glad I didn't ask you for an interview at the press conference...I would've hated this post had you given an interview to me :)

It was great meeting you, you're even nicer than I imagined...

I'm glad you survived. It was great meeting you in person even if we didn't really talk.

Waiting in line actually became easier as time passed. The bookshop staff was carrying around glasses of water so we didn't go thirsty and some people left behind amusing messages for people waiting further back in line. For example we passed by a piece of paper which had "Move, lemmings!" written on one side and "Winter is coming, nau!" on the other. And as we were inching past the medical section there was this little model skeleton with a piece of paper that said "I waited in line for George R. R. Martin. What about you?"

Somewhere at the end(well over 11) I asked how are you, and you said: "A little tired."
Now that's an understatement if I ever heard one. :D So yeah. Thank you very very much for your visit, your effort, and nevertheless, your "illegible scrawl". I just hope that the brutallity(because, well, 6 hours is quite brutal) of this signing won't discourage you from another visit in the future. :D

I was there in line, waiting for your signature. Thanks for those words and signature. I am glad you came and sorry we 'tortured' you, but if "you play the game, you win or you die". And you did win. Flawlesly.

My feet still hurt...
... but it was totally worth it. I have to congratulate you sir: only you (and Chuck Norris of course :) ) can draw so many Slovenian geeks away from their computer screens! As a guy before me said to you, thank you for your endurance. I'm glad your hand is OK. The amount of people was crazy. Two guys even passed out just before the entrance (it was hot and humidity was high). Thanks to all the staff at the book store who were so patient with all of us and were kind enough to bring us water during our (almost never ending) wait. When I finally reached the signing table at 11pm you looked exhausted but your hand was working tirelessly. It was a 5 hours wait but just talking and laughing with complete strangers around me made the waiting bearable. So again thank you for coming to our little piece of land and thank you for not collapsing before the end of this marathon-style event. Robi p.s. When the public announcements from your host Bostjan Gorenc began we got a bit nervous and were dreading that one last announcement which fortunately never came. ;)

Thank you
It was not a problem, I waited for 4 hours, and there were more people behind me than in front. Thank you for your patience and signing everyone's books!

Hahah, signing for five hours is also worth all possible appreciation :)
Thanks again for coming! The funny thing is, we all had in mind so many great questions for you, but then we just kind of froze when we actually met you, so instead you've got overly excited and confused fans :)
Anyways have a safe journey back!

Take a rest! =)
Thanks to you! I was a lucky one waiting less than 2 hours, but when I saw what I had behind... I really did not envy you at all!!!

You have eternal patience of showing us a smile and try to make conversation. You won all my respect, no doubt. Thanks for comming to Slovenia from a Spanish that is slovene adopted.

Take some rest! Signed, the First Aid's Lady =)

I got my books signed sometime around 11 p.m. and you were looking dead on your feet. :p

I'm still chastising myself for not coming an hour earlier, perhaps I would have gotten a chance to see your unmushified brain in action... well, but it was still damn well worth it.

Oh and one last thing, who are Jon's re- *cough cough* sorry, reflex.

I wish you a quick and easy interview and a happy fly. I hope that you can sleep well to get your brain prepared for a new battle.
