Comicon Special

I'm heading off to the airport in about an hour...

Before I go, though, an advance peek at the cover for the FEVRE DREAM graphic novel, which will be released at the San Diego Comicon in a couple of weeks.

And we have a special offer from Avatar: if anyone pre-orders a copy of the FEVRE DREAM hardcover from them, at the normal cover price, they will be guaranteed a ticket to my signing at the Avatar booth (#2701) on Thursday at 10:00 am. Daniel Abraham, who scripted the adaptation, will be there signing with me. The ticket will allow each holder to get this item plus three of their own signed. (But again, JUST SIGNATURES, no personalizations).

To preorder and get your ticket, go to:

See you in San Diego, true believers. Keep your steam up.

early dance
I'm sorry I'm commenting on this post rather than the one that dealt with this particular subject, but I figured you'd have a better chance of seeing this one so...

You said to let you know about retail stores selling Dance early, so I decided to be a good fan and let you know that my local Walmart has it on the shelf and available to buy. Should I have mounted their heads on spikes? :-P

Done & Done Sir! Already have the series as they were released, and it'll be nice to have them hardcover bound as well!

Your post mentioned this item + 3 others signed. That means I can get Warriors signed? ::happy face:: if so.

Looking forward to seeing you at Comic-Con.

Portuguese wanting to buy a signed copy of A Dance with Dragons

I can't wait to buy A Dance with Dragons. I have all the previous books signed and I was wandering if it would be possible to purchase a signed copy of this one too.

Maybe through one of the bookstores where the signing events will take place?

Thank you so much,

Daniel Caridade

The cover art looks similar to Mike Carey's Lucifer yet slightly better. Rafa Lopez (whoever he is) is very talented

Can't wait to check this out; I freaking love Fevre Dream. It would also be an amazing film/miniseries (ahem, HBO).

Problem loading page
Hey Ty, just a heads up, going to Not a Blog (grrm.livejournal.com) seems to redirect to Live Journal homepage for some reason.

See you in Indy on Saturday, George!

Fevre Dream
Weird that you posted this today. My house burned down about a month ago and of the few items they were able to save and de-scent was my Fevre Dream and Doorways comics. Also found out that they saved my signed GRRM books since they were in an enclosed space. Probably paid 5 times more than the cover price on the books to clean them up, but well worth it in my opinion especially since you aren't personalizing your scribbles these days and you aren't scheduled to hit Mpls this time around anyways. Perhaps you'll make and appearance at this year's Day's of Ice and Fire and I can add a signed DWD to my re-started collection.

George, are you planning to go to NY Comic Con this year? Please consider! I'm going and would love to hear you talk about the series and ask some questions!

Thanks! And I'm looking forward to going home from work today to my copy of ADWD on my doorstep! :D

That's a great cover. Daniel Abraham has got to be the perfect artist for your work (and of course the other Wildcards contributors), he has a keen eye for realism without losing that visual tension. Looks like my Hedge Knights stack is getting some company in hard cover.

Also I'm already much too far through DANCE and it's absolutely fantastic.

Have fun in San Diego!

Hey, you're on the front page of CNN.com right now.

Wish I could make it to a signing...
Hey remember a few years ago we were supposed to meet up for pizza in New Haven but you canceled at the last minute? Make up for it by stopping by at Mohegan Sun on your way thru from Boston to NY!!! Jk (kinda) I know you're super busy but I work there, you see...a fact which sadly prevents me from being able to attend either of your area signings this week.

Seriously though, thank you for all you've done. LOVE the books, and congrats on a well-done HBO adaptation, even if it pales in comparison to the originals it's still the best thing on tv on years. Keep up the good work ser.

Off topic I know... Thank you for this awesome book A Dance With Dragons. I feel confident saying it was worth the wait I just hope we don't need to wait as long for the next one.

I've confused Daniel Abraham with comic artist Mike Miller. This confusion probably sprouts up from having scooped up The Hard Call and Hedge Knight issues all together. But as it works out, I enjoyed the author of The Hard Call too - convenient mistake on my part.

(Then again, who couldn't love Croyd? The guy's irresistible in any medium.)

Oh, neat! I read Fevre Dream recently while waiting for the library to get one of the Ice and Fire books. I liked it, except for one particular scene/moment which I cannot handle and wish I could un-read/know. But the rest of it I liked very much.

Winds of Winter
Not to be pushy, but...

it's been 30 hours since the release of Dance and I want to know if Winds is finished yet.

Man, I was happy with you taking your time on ADWD, I really didn't like people being PO'd about the wait. Your work is a masterpiece and deserves the long hours you put into it. I waited until midnight for ADWD to be delivered to my kindle -- read till the wee hours, and read the next morning, and called in sick and read some more. The surprises are huge, the deaths are epic, and the book is awesome.

If one were to interlace the chapters of Feast For Crows and Dance With Dragons back to something approximating their original order, what would that order be? At least for the chapters that were pulled out when Feast was published.

I tried to see you at B&N in Union Square last night and got there too late (fourth floor was full so got stuck in the face with other sulking fans)! Just wanted to say that you were my introduction to the fantasy genre and because of ASOIF, I plan to read Tolkien and the Dune series, and many others. Can't wait to spend the weekend in doors to read A Dance With Dragons. I also wanted to say as a female I think its pretty remarkable how you write and describe so eloquently your female characters. I don't know if I would be able to write about men the way you write about women. Truly a gift. Daenerys, Brienne, Arya, etc. are the shit and I love how many of your females have such diverse personalities and backgrounds. Thanks again!
