Bubonicon

Great worldcon. Best in several years.

Great wedding. Best ever.

Great road trip. DEath Valley, Grand Canyon, WInslow, Pie Town.

But now I'm back in the Land o' Enchantment, and just in time for Bubonicon.

See you at the Sheraton!

Yagathai was showing me his pictures. The wedding was gorgeous! I loved Parris' dress, and George, you look like you've lost weight!

I'm going to see if me and the new husband can maybe make Boskone next year... it's been too long. :)

Ah, I miss the Pietown Pie Festival, and Bubonicon. Hope it's a nice relaxing weekend after Worldcon... we are doing the same thing at Armadillocon.

As a Canadian....
I feel obliged to apologize to you that you did not enjoy Worldcon in Montreal back in 2009.

I don't know what your personal complaints about it were, but I hope it was not a lack of tourist destination and road trip worthiness.

When in Montreal, you should definitely go to see Quebec City, take in the plains of Abraham where the decisive victory of Britain over France occurred. Who know what the political/ethnic landscape of North American would like had the French won?

GeorgeCom!
I love this idea and think you should immediately put it into action. I suggest Dublin as the ideal inaugral GeorgeCon destination, not at all from selfish reasons (ie I live there), honestly :)

Pie Town!
Man, I love drivin' the 60! VLA, scenic as can be, very little traffic, it is a gem! I go to Socorro every year to photograph birds down at Bosque.
If you've never gone, head down in November for a sunrise snow geese blastoff, it's unforgetable.
(I've actually never stopped for the pie, though....)

Bubonicon Format
Can you give a Bubonicon virgin a few tips for the greatest chance of an amazing convention? By the way, I'm typing this from my room in the Sheraton. =D Have a great con!

Thanks again from Lexington KY
Hello, congrats on the wedding! Looking forward to seeing you at Bubonicon. Coming all the way from Lexington! I was one of the card players who briefly talked with you at the end of the signing. Hope to see you back in Lexington for The Winds of Winter. Cheers.

Loved meeting you in Reno! It was my first Con (of any kind) and I'm already subscribed to Chicago. See you there!

Avid Fan & Voracious reader
I've been reading your series and collecting your softcover versions. I think you are a very gifted writer. As you collect miniatures, I collect series works, first edition hardcovers when possible. I've noticed your latest book is only out in hardcover. I want a softcover to match my set, but could not find anything on the random house website informing if a softcover will be released & when. Is it possible for someone to forward my query to a publisher rep to have this question answered? I know Mr. Martin is probably far too busy :-(

Re: Avid Fan & Voracious reader
Yes, there will be softcovers... but probably not until next July. Publishers typically let the hardcover run for a year before bringing out the paperbacks.
