GAME OF THRONES Comes to Comics

For all you funny book collectors out there... the first issue of GAME OF THRONES, from Dynamite and Random House, is now on sale in your favorite local comic book shop, bookstore, or spinner rack.

(Or at least it WAS on sale. I'm sorry, too much on my plate, I am way behind in posting here. GOT #1 went on sale last week, I gather, and is already sold out in many places. Dynamite has gone back to press for a second printing, but those copies will not have made it to the retailers yet ).

The first issue is available with two variant covers, one by Alex Ross and one by Mike S. Miller.

You pays your money and you takes your choice. Or you can just buy both, if you're that kind of collector.

Inside, the artwork is by Tommy Patterson, the script and adaptation by Daniel Abraham. The original story, of course, is by me.

In other comic-related news, Comic Book Resources has published an interview with Daniel at:

There's also a preview available on Newsarama at:

My hat is off to Daniel, Tommy, Alex, Mike, and the rest of the good folks at Dynamite and Random House, who have brought Westeros and its denizens to the world of comics.

Beautiful illustrations. :)

I watched the TV show first, and NOW I'm reading the books .. (I just started CLASH OF KINGS) .. it's kind of neat to already have faces for the characters as I read, who ever cast the show did an amazing job. :)

I hate to be the lone voice of dissent
Cannot stand this artist/company. Their Dresden comic was equally abysmal.

Looks interesting, but I can't say I like the Others in this rendition. They look like a bunch of Jack Frost impersonators.

oh wow...
I hope to find the first one!

I read the beginning of Game of Thrones in my local Barnes and Noble, and the finding of the direwolves was the reason I chose to purchase the book.

The first one looks like the ultimate wolf shirt. All it needs is a dreamcatcher.

Where can I buy it?
Hello All,
Is there a chance to get it somewhere in bookstore/comic store in Europe or in Poland? Actually, I didn't manage to find it in any on-line store. Any idea how can I get it in my hands?

Do love that Alex Ross cover, but yes, I don't think I'd want it on a t-shirt ;)

Any idea how to get it if you don't live in the US?
I live in Denmark.

Congrats on the comics... or should i say Graphic Novel? It's an awesome addition for the comic book readers. I know Dunk and Egg is coming soon, but I personally would've loved to see those stories in comic form. Maybe something to consider?...huh? huh?...lol

Well, the first two Dunk & Egg stories have already been done as comics. You can find them on Amazon.

As for the third... well, I guess that's up to Dynamite.

I think my local comic dealer was stoked to see this come out. Since Fevre Dream and Doorways ended I've only had one book going into my box (the Walking Dead) and he seemed a bit perturbed by holding a box for 1 book. Art looks good though some of the characters look a bit too similar at times. Story line was done well. Overall, a good offering.
