Game of Thrones - Blu-ray & DVD release

I’ve signed 5 copies of the script I wrote for Game of Thrones Season 1. Want to enter to win one? Head over to http://www.barnesandnoble.com/container/stores.asp?PID=41441 to pre-order your copy of the first season on Blu-ray or DVD and while you are there, enter to win one of the scripts.

My HBO person sent me a new link to try.

Technical difficulties (and football)
Hello Mr. Martin

This link doesn't work on the bn site today. I can see the pre-order Blu-ray but it doesn't mention the contest. Is it open to U.S. citizens only?

Also, no post yet about football? I thought you would comment the two craziest games by NYJ and NYG so far this season!

When are the UK sites going to offer pre-orders for season one, being from Northern Ireland and considering the amount of our countryside has contributed to the show, I would have thought we would get first dibs, but guess we'll be at the end of the release calender.. boo :(. Also George please stop leaving all these cool signed books in America, truly considering blowing all my savings to go and find myself one.
Now you have a competition for signed stuff to entice more people to pre-order, but I'm desperate for both and can't enter, think about the worldwide fans..I know it's probably the fault of a heartless corporation sorry about the rant usually don't do these, but just feel hard done by.

UK preorders
Amazon UK is doing preorder now! I found that out about an hour ago. :-) Definitely preordering mine today, as soon as I figure out what I need for my second semester at uni so I can order it all at once.

I'd love a signed script too. Ah well, it happens.

What are the chances that we will ever see A Game of Thrones Season 1 extended cut or director's cut? I have to think a lot more was filmed than was shown on HBO.

I don't suppose you want to hear that in Afghanistan, they've been selling very fancy and official looking box sets of the DVDs for a while now...

If it's any consolation (I bet it's not) the total sales in Afghanistan probably aren't enough to make much of an impact on profits overall. There aren't that many expats here, and they don't let the military guys into the stores selling the DVDs.

For what it's worth, the show helped the SciFi/Fantasy fanatics among my circle of friends several of the less fanatical in our circle, and several of them have now read the books. And the rest of them are anxiously awaiting season 2.

p.s. No, I didn't buy the ever-so-official box set of season 1, although I'll admit I was very tempted.

Will you be doing any of the commentary for the dvd? I think a lot of us would like to see that.

Thanks for the link - worked for me. I've ordered the DVD and entered the contest. Happy Holidays!

I know this is unrelated, but I just have to ask. Will 'Dance' ever be published in the original 2006 paperback design? I've been holding out in hopes that I will be able to get the version that matches the rest of my set, but to my dismay the paperbacks I've seen are with an updated design. If it turns out I won't be able to get the matching book, I might have to donate my current books and update them. I must have consistancy in my bookshelf!

(Sorry if this has already been addressed. I looked and looked but saw no mention.)

I wouldn't recommend holding your breath
The only way you are likely to have a matching set for the series is to wait until the last book is published. There have been several style since the series started, and it is more likely there will be more before the last book is released.

Since you are collecting them in paperback, I assume you aren't concerned with editions/printings. So, you could plan on having a matching set in the future when the series is complete.

Awesome!! Do you by chance know when will they be available in Latin America, specifically, Argentina?

And, since we are at it, do you know if there's any way I can get my hands on some Wildcards here is this god forsaken country (Argentina, I mean). I tryed ordering via amazon, but they get held up at custmos. You must have a fan there too who's stealing my shit.

Winds of Winter title
Mr. Martin,
It seems that there is already a book by the title of "The Winds of Winter" by Sandra Field. ISBN 0373023987

Will this be a problem? Just curious...

By the way, I've always been a fan of ASOIAF, and now even my non-reader husband is devouring your books. Thank you. You have truly extraordinary talent.

request for help
I totally fell in love with Game of the thrones, books and HBO´s series! AWESOME! I really would love to have autograpf of you, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke. Can you give me some address for fans? I know that Mr. Harington is now filming on Iceland, so maybe address to set?
Thank you :-)

Entry Form Issues
The HBO entry form does not include the Georgia abbreviation in the State pull down menu. If you could pass this along to your HBO people, so that your fans in Georgia can register to win the sweepstakes.

And since is the first time I'm posting on your Not A Blog, I'd like to thank you for your wonderful novels and the HBO series is awesome. Keep up the great work and take as much time as you need.
