Home Again

A long, long day of travel yesterday, Barcelona to Atlanta to Albuquerque to Santa Fe. Followed by collapse.

But it's a new day, and I am back at my desk in the land of green chile. Just finished getting caught up on my email. So much work to do.

Thanks for all my friends in Spain for making our visit so much fun.

Atlanta airport
I walked right past you in Atlanta airport. I was too busy phoning my wife - telling her guess who I just saw to ask for an autograph. Hope you are refreshed after all the travel

Why was the US mass market paperback and paperback version of A Dance with Dragons pushed back to March 2013?
Aug. 1st, 2012 10:45 pm (UTC)
At the request of booksellers.

Hello Mr Martin,

Just wanted to let you know that I just finished reading A Storm of Swords... I hate you, but I still love you. Hehe isn't that exactly what you want to inspire in people?

Welcome back George!
What do you think of them making "The Hobbit" a trilogy? Maybe we're going to see Gandalf battle the Necromancer?

At least you made it home in time for football. Cheers!

I read "Sandkings" in Omni Magazine way back when (early 80's I think). I just now connected it with you! I loved that story, and have told many people about it over the years, but couldn't remember the author. It is possible, that in a box in the attic, I still have that copy of Omni.

I'm glad you made it home safely from your trip.

Thank you for sharing the stories in you head with us. Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to the next book :)

Re: Sandkings
I also love Sandkings. I think it could be adapted into a great horror/sci-fi flick. I know Outer Limits did it as a short episode, but technology is soo much greater now. It would be amazing to sink into that Aquarium and watch the Sandkings battle it out against each other and the other creature's their God/Owner drops in to ammuse his party guests. Plus when they do escape, it could be one of the scariest movies ever if done correctly. One of my fave Short Stories along with the Yellow Wallpaper by Perkins-Gilman.
