Sorry George
You could choose to add Seahawks fandom to your Giants and Jets fandom. Then you could say your team had two 50+ point blowouts in the last two weeks. And their record is 9-5. Not bad, right? ;) GO HAWKS!

Hello sir, have you seen 'An Unexpected Journey' yet? If not, I recommend it highly. It was awesome!

Question about A Dance With Dragons
Sorry about your Gmen. I'm curious about one thing unrelated to football (sorry!)--

I saw a mass-market paperback English version of A Dance With Dragons here in Budapest yesterday, yet on Amazon it says that won't come out until next May. Since I already ordered it on Amazon, I don't way to buy it again here (plus it's expensive), but what's the deal? Why do they get the MMP here so early while we have to wait so long?

Hi George,

A quiet part of me as a Falcon fan now wonders who the next Stark who meets the axe will be?

It's not finnished!
Omg i have just finished reading the books after completly ignoring my life for the last ten days and the story is no where near finished. Please tell me you are close to finishing the next (last?) book. The night is dark and full of terrors and i cant wait to see what happens. Winter is coming!

an understatement
I know this is your usual comment for a loss but for this game it is quite the understatment.

Ateast one thing would make you happy
The forces of Good(known by most as the Patriots) fell on Sunday Night to the 49ers. Things went poorly from the start and it looked like it would be a true drubbing of the good guys with dropped passes and fumbles and the interceptions...

But then, in depths of the third, a spark of light ignited in the hearts of our heroes! A brave young knight known as Ser Danny of House Woodhead began to hammer the ball with all his strength. When all seemed lost, a single touchdown! The joy rose above the seeming futility of it all, we would not go quietly into that good night! Then, the legend rose from his slumber! Ser Tom drove down the field, and on fourth and goal on the half-yard line he soared into the endzone. Two more scores later the Pats had overcome their 31-3 deficit! The Light would not be extinguished on this rainy night..

But the Niners returned a kickoff to the Patriots 38 and scored on the next play. Before the end the Patiots scored a field goal but failed to recover the onside kick...

The light may have been beaten, but... atleast we showed up!!! Better late than never!

Life is indeed meaningless, and full of pain, but Schopenhauer instructs us that our happiness comes from 3 sources:

What we think of ourselves,
What others think of us, and
The things we own.

Only one of them is under our control. So ignore the things and other people, and life becomes more bearable.

The New York Giants winning or losing is not under your control. Never was. They won last year, but this year they're stumbling around under some kind of post-Super Bowl malaise. Meaningless? Indeed. Painful? Only if you think it matters. And it shouldn't.
