Back From LA

Just back from a week in LA.

I did Conan (the O'Brien, not the Cimmerian) and the Today Show, and taped a segment for a BBC special about Machiavelli... along with the usual dozen or so meeetings.

Also, while in town, swung by the Bookstar in Studio City and signed all their stock of my books, which was considerable. So if you're an Angeleno or just visiting LA, and want to snag an autographed copy of one of my novels, get yourself to Studio City while the supply lasts.

And now I'm back in the land of wolves and savage dust storms, digging out from under.

Dying of the Light
I just read Dying of the Light. And I'm very sad to know that that great universe of human races spread in planets in the future has no more stories to tell. I'd love to hear more about how was the human evolution into space and what happened in the Double War. I'd kill to see a map of the galaxy with the location of the planets.

Re: Dying of the Light
That would need to be a big map.

I wouldn't say there were no more stories to tell. But there are only so many hours in the day.

Maybe when ICE & FIRE is done. But I make no promises.

See, I'm trying to learn to say no. Trying to please everyone got me into a lot of trouble.

Re: Dying of the Light
That's ok. This is one of the major problems of talented men: A lifetime would not be enough time to share everything. But we all should say thank you for the privilege of knowing your universes and having the mere possibility of visit them in our dreams.

Re: Dying of the Light
I wouldn't say 'no', more like 'not right now' or some such haha.

Once Ice and Fire is finished, I'm looking forward to more Dunk and Egg. If Bantam, Harper Voyager, and your other publishers handle those collections as well as they handle Ice and Fire, we're going to get some very fine editions.

And once Ice and Fire is finished, I beleive that you will have anough material for another Retrospective.
