I Hate Football

Finally home from all my travels, no major events to fill up my weekend, a Sunday free for football... and both my teams go down in flames.

The Jets at least put up a fight against the Panthers.  Their D is for real.  And there was one cool moment, when Rex used huge DT Sheldon Richardson to pound in a TD.  But I still don't believe in Geno Smith.  How did he get back in when I wasn't looking?  Last I heard, he'd been benched and they were going to give Matt Simms a try.

The Giants game... I have called in the Men in Black to have that wiped from my memory.  5 INTs??  Oh, Eli, where are thou...

I hear ya. I played Andre brown as my RB2 for playoff week 2 with Giovani bernard on the bench. Praying to Many-Faced God to eke this one out.

I only have the one team - the Jaguars - to mourn.
I can't imagine having 2 let me down so badly in the same season.
I think I'd have to take up drinking to drown the pain.

Know how you feel...
The Saints got their tails handed to them by the Rams in St. Louis...between that & the G-Men's loss (which I just happened to see, BTW) I was so disgusted that I switched it off.

The only really good thing to happen football-wise this week was "Evil Little Bill" and Golden Boy Brady getting bested by the 'Fins down in Miami.

Yeah well, your Jets dismantled my Raiders so how do you think I feel? No sympathy for you, my friend. :-)

Well, at least my hometown Bills had a rare good game.

I am a Seahawks fan all the way... Even so, I thought about you while watching the game.

From Ernie Accorsi's scouting report of Eli: "...When he's inaccurate, he's usually high, but rarely off target to either side..."

He's obviously reverted. In today's post game interview he said he feels like he's throwing the ball well.

Eli and the team need for this off-season to hurry up.

Rex did a fine job with the D. Unfortunately a team has to play both sides of the ball to be successful. Geno Smith was never a solution. Why they drafted him... maybe neither is Simms. My feeling is that they don't want Simms to take a beating, look bad and maybe lose confidence. They'll have Simms, Smith and maybe Sanchez or 'other' compete for the job during the preseason. Much like the Giants it won't matter unless they improve that O line and, and, and, get some weapons at receiver.

It might actually hurt them more in the long run that Ryan coached them to a mediocre record despite not having a true franchise QB. This draft figures to be top-heavy with passing prospects.

Is that Eli Manning to whom you refer? Lol he lived like three houses down from me in college. Hotty toddy, yes? Don't do football but I occasionally ran into the dude at parties and such.

That's rough news about the Giants. However, it looks my Ravens are having a bit of a mini comeback. Well see!

Sheldon Richardson
They seemed pretty determined to get him that touchdown, they handed it off to him twice at the goal line on that drive. Shades of the Fridge.

My team is the Texans. That should make you feel better.

No you don't
You're just unfortunate to have been born and lived in a place where you became a Jets and a Giants fan. It's because you love football so much that these loses are so painful.
