For New Mexicans...

... and tourists passing through Santa Fe.

We've had some very cool author events and booksignings at the Jean Cocteau Cinema since we reopened last summer.  All of the visiting authors signed stock before taking their leave of us.  So for the book collectors among you, take note.  We have autographed copies of books by DIANA GABALDON, S.M. STIRLING, MICHAEL CHABON, PAT CONROY, MELINDA SNODGRASS, CARRIE VAUGHN, DIANA ROWLAND, MEGAN LINDHOLM/ ROBIN HOBB, JOE S. LANSDALE, SAM SYKES, GARDNER DOZOIS, TRENT ZELAZNY, and NEIL GAIMAN for sale at the theatre.

(You will need to drop in to the Cocteau to get one, though.  Sorry, we've not set up to do mail orders at this time).

And yes, we also have autographed copies of my own books available at the theatre.  OLD MARS, the WILD CARDS books, all five ICE & FIRE novels, FEVRE DREAM, ARMAGEDDON RAG, DYING OF THE LIGHT, WINDHAVEN, the map book.  You will find them at the Jean Cocteau.

Patrick Rothfuss
Patrick Rothfuss is not on this list. I read that you enjoyed his books. I finished Wise men's fear today and I felt as if I had been kicked into the groins by a beautiful woman. For some reason, probably instinct, I read a chapter from GOT - it was like a sunrise after a long and cold night. Your words were like music to my ears and I laughed out with joy. Thanks for that.

Re: Patrick Rothfuss
Yes, I love Pat Rothfuss's books, but we've not yet had the chance to host him at the Jean Cocteau. One of these days, perhaps.

That sounds like fun! Do you think you'll ever make it to visiting Scotland for a book signing/various literature related shenanigans? :]

That's fair! Maybe I'll be able to go down to the England one. Until then, Nessie and I will be patiently waiting! : D

Hoping
Hello! I've been a fan of your A Song of Ice and Fire series for a very long time. They've gotten me through so many tough times in my own life. I just love the reality of them. I'm a teacher now, so instead of Merry Christmas, I put "Winter is Coming" in my room. I hope you will make it back out to Texas eventually, but until then I have an even greater hope that my brother, who is stationed in New Mexico with the Air Force, will be able to make it out to Santa Fe, and pick up some autographed books for me. It is my biggest wish! I hope you are having a wonderful New Year!

Just finished reading 48 Laws of Power
Hi George,

I just finished reading The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene and I couldn't help but think that this would be Littlefinger's bible. Anyways thought just popped into my head. Hope you have a great new year.

PS I am a Vikings fan so when you get down thinking about the bad year your Jets and Giants just had, keep in mind at least your ex-punter didn't just disclose how messed up your organization has become.

Cheers-

Andrew

switch out chapter?
Hi George -
Any chance of getting a chapter switched out on the samples page? Arianne has been there since last January, and now seems like a great time to swap her out, kind of give her a rest, you know?
Anyway - just a thought...

I am excited to actually take in a movie there the next time we get through NM. Have not seen the theater all rocked out and snazzy yet.

Should be a good time indeed...

All the Wild Cards books under Tor have had absolutely stellar covers. I'd frame them and hang them on my wall if I could.

Are all these examples digital artwork? It doesn't look like traditional oil on canvas. I miss the fantasy/sci-fi covers of the '70s and '80s. Even the paperbacks had amazing covers.

Whatever anyone can get their hands on is, I suspect, the right answer.

At the last party, it was an open bar with pretty much everything you can imagine on offer. There were some special drinks as…

Any chance you could tell us who’s doing the cover art for Fire and Blood? And maybe when we can expect a glimpse of it. Thank you!
