Season Four Is Coming...

... but not until April.  The fourth season of GAME OF THRONES will debut on Sunday, April 6, at 9pm Eastern.

But the TRAILER for season four can be seen tomorrow.  Just make sure you catch the premiere of the latest great HBO drama, TRUE DETECTIVE, tomorrow night at 9 pm ET... and don't forget to tune in a few minutes early.

I can hear some of you muttering that you don't get HBO.  Well, you should.  But that aside, this weekend is a "Free HBO Weekend" on many cable systems and satellite services, so even if you don't normally receive HBO, you may find you have it this weekend.  Click over and see, then sample TRUE DETECTIVE and enjoy the season four trailer.  (And then run and subscribe to HBO, because it won't stay free forever).

And for those of you who cannot even wait until tomorrow, here's a teaser for the trailer:

Apropos of the Cocteau Theatre
(Not GoT) could they use a perfectly good carousel slide projector? I have the projector and a couple of empty rings, it is old but has not been used a LOT (occasionally at ConQuesT and a couple of other midwest cons).

Asking before I donate it to St. Vincent de Paul.

Thanks for sharing George!

My parents get HBO so I'll catch ssn4 at their place. This show is a great fix for waiting for the next release by you - whether it's A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms or The Winds of Winter - either way, this season looks great and I'm excited to see Dorne come to life.

Pretty rad even though it's just a teaser! I think the shot with the horse at the 3 second mark was fantastic and I can't wait to see what part of the story it goes with. Can't wait for April!

It's just episodes from previous seasons. Not the fourth season. what a disappointment

Uh... no. All the footage in the teaser is from season four.

I have no idea what you were looking at.

I'm so excited! The first teaser looks amazing and I can't wait to watch the full trailer! And finally I'm on the other side, so I can already tell what happens in the shown scenes :D

this seems really early to release a trailer (and a full one with footage, at that, rather than the short voiceover with release date trailer we got this time last year. Last year we didn't get a proper trailer till about a month before the series premiere, and this season is starting a week later than normal. Not complaining though I'm really excited (even though I'll have to stay up till 2am to get it over here in the uk) I just think it's interesting

A trailer for a trailer. It's funny when you think about it.

Yes I have it set to record the trailer! This is going to be another great season. Will be interesting to see how they work Jaime being in King's Landing before Joffrey's wedding though.

Can't wait for Season 4 to air. Can we look forward to some behind the scenes footage and/or special features from Season 4 before April 6th?

Now would be the PERFECT time for HBO to roll out a paid stand-alone option for HBO GO.

With Breaking Bad in the rear view mirror, Game of Thrones is without question the undisputed best show on television today. More importantly, the amount of hype this show is generating is off the charts (you know it's big if South Park devotes 3 episodes to parody it). If HBO were to release their streaming service as a stand-alone product, millions would sign up just for Game Of Thrones alone. Release the service today, plenty of time for new viewers to catch up, and the season 4 premier would shatter whatever numbers Netflix is getting for House of Cards, etc, as the most streamed small screen program ever.

Unfortunately though, HBO has yet to realize that traditional television programming, especially the paid kind, will inevitably join the ranks of VCRs, beepers, and cassette tapes. So instead of capitalizing on the perfect opportunity for a market-moving entry to streamed content now, while the industry is still young and wide open, they will instead have to play catch-up years from now, after Netflix, Amazon and Hulu have already established a substantial oligopoly.

Instead of being the most streamed television show ever, the season 4 premier will once again likely be the most pirated show ever.

Re: HBO Go
I still own several VCRs and a lot of tapes (and a Betamax and laser disc player too), and I have a cassette player in my car.

Never owned a beeper, though.

New fan
I happened to catch part of an episode this week, and now I'm slightly obsessed. I went to my local bookstore and picked up the first book in the series. I can't wait to watch these in order!

With the material season 4 is drawing from, I have no doubt Season 4 will be the best [and most crowd-pleasing ;) ] season yet.

The trailer needed more Sansa in my opinion ;)
