Winter In Seattle

Winter came to Seattle on March 1.

That was the day that the LTD Gallery opened its latest show, featuring artwork inspired by A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE.

Copy of WIC poster

I had been hoping to be there in person for the opening, but alas, there's too much work to do and too little time, so I had to stay home and miss it.  But don't you guys in Seattle and nearby environs (Vancouver, Portland, Eugene, what have you) make the same mistake.  The show will be open until March 23, and it looks as though there's some great stuff there.  Check out the piece in WIRED>

It's great to see a gallery like LTD featuring fantasy art.  Those of you lucky enough to see the show, do come back here afterwards and let us know how you enjoyed it, and what your favorite pieces were.

Winter in Seattle
Looks amazing. Any chance they'd put some more of it up online?

Really loved Nicolas Delort and Primary Hughes' pieces.

Night's Watch artwork at the gallery of Winter is Coming. I have thrice missed opportunities to come to the Cockteau but perchance to dream of seeing the glorious city of Seattle. Perhaps a Wild Cards artwork exhibition in the future, Grand and Magnanimous Ser.

I got a print for $40
Yes, it was my birthday present to myself! The scene from the Saltpans. One of my favorite parts from Feast of Crows. And I believe only hardcore fans of Ice & Fire will recognize the true meaning. Will look cool on my wall to boot.

My favorite piece at the show was the large Weirwood sculpture by Lannie Pihajlic so I ended up buying it.

Also, the show will appear at the Emerald City Comicon at the end of the month, 28th-30th.

That was a great piece! A little Jealous I'm not going to lie! I was sorely tempted to get the Kraken's Daughter but the Wife put the breaks on the $850 purchase :) Wish they had done a print of it.

Love my print
I purchased a print off the website and it arrived and is awesome and is going to go really well with my Mondo GoT Art Exhibit print..

I purchased the Castle Black Rookery one.
My only feedback for future art shows is for people to continue to make prints in smaller size available. We all only have so much wall space. Poster size is too big.

All the Wild Cards books under Tor have had absolutely stellar covers. I'd frame them and hang them on my wall if I could.

Are all these examples digital artwork? It doesn't look like traditional oil on canvas. I miss the fantasy/sci-fi covers of the '70s and '80s. Even the paperbacks had amazing covers.

Whatever anyone can get their hands on is, I suspect, the right answer.

At the last party, it was an open bar with pretty much everything you can imagine on offer. There were some special drinks as…

Any chance you could tell us who’s doing the cover art for Fire and Blood? And maybe when we can expect a glimpse of it. Thank you!
