Amazing numbers
17.8 million across all platforms. That blows away The Sopranos‘ fifth season, which garnered 14.4 million per episode, and officially makes Game of Thrones the most watched HBO show ever. Congrats to everyone that works on the show and yourself George. I was wondering if you and any thoughts on the season so far and has it been what you expected for the most part or have you been surprised (either disappointingly or enjoyably)

7 million viewers
7 is a lucky number in the ASOIAF universe.

How does it feel to be the biggest attraction on HBO? Is this what you've always imagined for your story?

I bet you didn't think it would lead here when you quit writing for tv and began the saga back in the nineties!

Epic Battles & Epic Dragons!

Congrats to yourself as well! So, at the risk of getting ahead of ourselves here, I'm super excited that these large numbers can only mean a larger budget, and, therefore, a fuller realization of your world and story! "Too many characters, George; it's too big, George!" You know you want that epic finish on TV changing the game forever!

Congratulations! nice Longclaw you have in that picture!
(Sory for my english, i'm from the other side of the wall)

I'm still waiting to see the five chapter.
"Oathkeeper" was strange to me. I do not know if that final scene was a spoiler, or something unique to the series. (Always imagined something while reading the books, but that final scene can mean many things)
What can i say?? I'm not angry about that scene, like many people that i know.
I love the books (ASOIAF and many other sagas) and i know that the books will always be better than any TV show or movie.
I see GOT and i love it, (For me,one of the best series ever created on television) But my heart is still waiting for WOW. That's where the real story happens for me.
Just my opinion. This Seven million watchers is HUGE,time to celebrate. If you come to Argentina some day, you can stop in my bar. Free drink for the guy who gave me hours and hours of interesting, engaging and great reading.

I think it's safe to say that Game of Thrones is the most popular TV show to ever come on TV.

As much as I love your books, the...'divergence' from them on screen makes sense and is in good taste. I enjoy both but your Tomes of Awesomeness will forever remain my preferred version of how the story is told.

Congrats to yourself and everyone involved at hBO - celebrate with a bottle of 'Fire and Blood'!

Hopefully this helps convince HBO to keep the showing running a bit longer than 7 seasons and gives you enough time to write DREAM.

All the more reason to continue writing as you are pursued by that Indiana Jonesque boulder behind you called GAME OF THRONES. There is hope, I see the light aka THE WINDS OF WINTER!

And don't forget the writers! It takes quite an imagination and unbelievable ability to weed it all down to 10 hours per season, and they're doing a hell of a job.
