Simonetti Art Book
- May. 10th, 2014 at 11:07 PM
Marc Simonetti, the amazing French artist who has done so many great covers for both A SONG OF ICE & FIRE and WILD CARDS, is trying to raise funding for a book of his art.
I know there's a lot of Simonetti fans out there. If you'd like to help, check out:

couldn't resist...
I am Wordstar and I am of the night.
Also it all makes sense now. AFFC/ADWD took 11 years because your PC exploded from the Y2K bug.

Btw, if you could please answer this, are we going to see new maps on TWOW? It would help us readers a lot if it came with a map of Meereen (and maybe TLOAW), due to what's happening in that city on the book.

I didn't know he was working on wild cards too, thanks for the news.
I'm wondering if he will be the one who will do the french cover of wild cards:/
I bought a framed Kingsmoot print at the "Winter is Coming" exhibit.
Bought three more prints off his Deviant Art page "Looking for the Stark Children" Blacktyde Longship" and "Greyjoy's Castle" as well as the Seastone chair.
AND I funded the book project! Amazing work! Would love to see his take on Victarion.
Kickstarter projects seem to get more attention nowadays, especially when it's for someone who has proven to be good at what he/she does. Luckily for him, he has. But sadly, all is not well in publishing and producing of products who may not be very profitable, which scares new talent away and forces some (maybe like Simonetti) to crowdfunding. Kickstarter (partially) resolves this problem and allows talented people to potentially achieve their dreams.
Kickstarter even managed to enable funding for multi million dollar projects (most notable, star citizen, which has accumulated a whopping 42 million dollars), which leaves me with the question: is this the future?
Edit: not Kickstarter apparently, but still...

But none of these books comes to this country. And if they do, they're worth too much money. It's amazing what books are being worth in Argentina!
