Hey, hey, hey.

We're number one.

For the details:

I loved THE SOPRANOS.  But I gotta admit, it's good to be the king.

Not surprising.

This is great news. I hope more and more people start watching it and I hope more of the viewers decide to pick up the books.

How do you deal with all the pressure that must come with this, Mr. Martin? Meditation? Food? Drugs? Haha!

I picture you as Daenerys in the last episode, except that all the beggars want to ask the King when the next book will be ready and give their opinion on how he can improve the story, haha.

Fan Patience
Yes, the poor man doesn't need pressure or plot suggestions from the fans. It took 20 years of fan pressure to get Stephen Donaldson to continue on with the Thomas Covenant series, everybody had ideas. You cannot rush genius.

# of Episodes
Does GoT only get 10 episodes a season because the cost of each is probably greater than the entire season of shows like S.V or True Detective? Hoping for greater # in future...

In case of a public speaking
Are you gonna do the "I'm the king of the world" James Cameron thing?

Nice work! The show keeps getting better and better. That's surely in part due to how good Storm of Swords is for source material, but it's more than just the plot. The dialogue, the pacing, the sets, the new scenes that condense or simplify certain plot elements, etc. Everything (except maybe the Jamie / Cercei / Joffrey scene) has been absolutely amazing this season.

Well deserved recognition. I hope you guys can keep up the good work!

Thank You
Hey George.

I don't imagine you'll read this since you're the busiest guy in Santa Fe these days; I just wanted to tell you that I lost my mom last week, and your ASOIAF books/Game of Thrones, and the Wildcard series has helped me greatly.

The ability to create a world in words, which not only captures your attention, but also carries you away into that world, is a rare gift. Anne McCaffrey (God Rest Her Soul)had that unique gift. I know well the Dragons of PERN, the Lyon's Pride & so many other worlds she took me to. Also, The Land, thank goodness Donaldson finally brought Thomas Covenant back with 4 more books. When an author births characters through which we can identify & live & breathe each step along the way, then that is when "MAGIC" happens. The cast of GoT have done well. Most of these people work really well at bringing their characters to life. So, yes, No.# 1.

Congratulations! You all deserve it. The numbers are now showing what many of us have known all along. The cast is amazing, and I would especially like to say that Pedro Pascal did an above and beyond job as Oberyn Martell. The casting for Oberyn and Ellaria Sand was perfect, and every detail about them, the hair, the costuming, was right on.

The amazing writing for this character paired with an actor that took it to the next level made me love him and want to revisit everything about Dorne and the Dornish in the books. He was only around for 8 episodes, and I don't even think he was in all of them, but the impact he made was great and he got some really wonderful scenes.

I'd also like to say that I really like the small interactions that Missandei and Grey Worm are having. I like the fact that the Unsullied aren't just being talked about and used as warriors in this game of thrones, but we are actually getting to see one up close and get a real sense of them through that. A lot of other shows might not think to 'humanize' the Unsullied like this, but then you all aren't other shows. I am so thankful for that.

Great work, and please keep it up! :)

You have earned it.

But please, please, please, if you can help it, don´t let Benioff and Weiss deviate anymore from the books. I feel that almost every single time they deviate from the books it has lowered the quality of the story. The more major the deviation, the worse it gets. The apparent rape of Cersei felt pointless and added nothing. It was inconsistent because it was obviously not well thought out. Why not just stick to the well planned story of the books? Littlefinger having no plan to handle and manipulate the Lord´s declarant: It makes him much less cunning and therefore much less interesting and formidable. I had been looking forward to the scene from the book and almost felt robbed.

Some of the deviations have been good (Arya´s and Tywin´s interactions were interesting), but generally they feel sloppy and inconsistent with the rest of the story. Please don´t let it happen, if you can. For all its worth, I hope it means something when a fan say this. They chose your story because they thought it was good, so why make such changes to its near core?

Re: Congratulations
This is really not the place for these discussions.

I write the books. David and Dan write (most of) the show. Two different mediums, two different versions of the world and story.

I've said it before. How many children did Scarlett O'Hara have, anyway?

Awesome... and this bodes well for the future!
So now hopefully the execs will see fit to extend the seasons a few episodes? I know you have said that has been one of your least favorite things about the show is that all these other grossly less popular shows get more episodes for much smaller stories while season after season we only get 10. I get the budgeting thing... but more of the most profitable show has to yield more profit right lol?

But even if we keep the same 10 episode format it wouldn't be too horrible... far more important though is down the line... more seasons means more profit and with all of this growing momentum as time goes hopefully we'll get some full feature length movies at the tail end! Hobbit style... with the nice time breaks in between films to give you more time to write :) That's what I'm hoping for... gods be good.

Game of thrones.
Please bring back Arya Stark's Sword dancing teacher. Because we didn't see him die per se, he therefore must be alive because there is no mystery to the deaths in your books and on the show. When they are dead its final.

The King!
Congratulations on a job well done. I just wish all kings were so benevolent in truth. LOVE the complexity and the deep reveal of the human nature we all share! Bless you and your!
