Home Again

Got home late (LATE) last night from Switzerland.  The journey back from Neuchatel, via Zurich and O'Hare, ended up taking us twenty four from when we took to when we toppled into bed again, thanks to a long layover and even longer delays in Chicago, so Raya and I were both zombies when we arrived.  The flight on Swissair from Zurich was a delight.  The flight from Chicago to Albuquerque on American Eagle was a nightmare.  I really hate these crappy little planes that United and American have put on their domestic routes.

Anyway... very tired now, and of course a thousand emails awaited me... but I am catching up, and hope to be able to say a few words about my adventures in Europe later.  It was an amazing trip.

Glad you arrived home safely :) I can imagine the trip was very exhausting but I'm still so very grateful that you made it to Switzerland. Seeing you in person and exchanging a few words with you was an absolut highlight of an otherwise not so happy month and I will treasure the memories forever! Thank you and I wish you a lot of relaxation time :) Just screw the e-mails and take a Spa-Day or a nap...whatever you prefer ;)

After a handful of recent flights, I've decided that I just really hate flying. I had actually never even come close to being sick on a plane until a few weeks ago, when I got a rogue pilot who damn near did a barrel roll somewhere over Ohio.

Longest flight I've ever endured was nine hours (Paris to Cincinnati) and I just about lost my mind. I can't imagine being in transit, on and off airplanes, for 24 hours. Also, I'm not keen on United. Their recent transgressions regarding pet travel notwithstanding, they just have really lousy service. Delta and Southwest are much better for domestic flights, I've found, though I don't think the latter flies to New Mexico.

Glad to read this - that you landed home safe. Not too much the other things.

I hope you enjoyed your stay in Dijon - what a day it was for us !
(we were the ones doing the Historical European Martial Arts demonstrations outside)

I also hope you still enjoy the knife and the dagger...
