FOCUS Interview

Here's the latest interview with Yours Truly, from Focus on New Mexico KNME.

(I must have done a hundred interviews in San Diego, but this one was done earlier, at the Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe).

Musings on the reins of power
I found A Dance With Dragons very interesting, mostly because of this subject. It shows the true nature of trying to be a good ruler in the face of opposition and conflict. It makes us wonder what is in store for Meereen and, more particularly, Yunkai in The Winds of Winter. Dany will be confronted with new decisions as to how she should deal with threats. The classic Medieval response to those shown mercy who respond with war and treachery was merciless destruction; but, Dany is a young woman who knows little of war. LOL

Re: Musings on the reins of power
It's always interesting to sense the personality of a good ruler/person in charge. So far in the series most rulers have not been good, maybe with the exception of Ned Stark. Outside the Westeros universe, I like Commander Adama (Olmos) from Battlestar Galactica, and captain Horpach in the novel The Invincible by Stanisław Lem, which I read not long ago.
