Looking great...
The game trailer makes me as tense as the books and show! As a reader, writer and game player I'm looking forward to this being released to round off my whole GoT experience.

Canon status?
Hello, I'm the new head Administrator at Game of Thrones Wiki: Is the game "TV-continuity"? Over at the wiki we're unsure of how to include it, no one tells us anything. So far we've been tentatively treating it as "near-canon" for the TV continuity. But some debate whether we should include info about "Ramsay Snow" from the video game on the "Ramsay Snow, TV series" article, or just make a separate one.

My hope is that the game is....the analogy I'd use is that old Cadfael mystery series, about a monk whose abbey is in a town on the Welsh border during the Anarchy between Stephen and Matilda. The main course of the civil war is going on, but the TV series zoomed in to show how it is affecting one tiny corner of England.

The more I heard about it the more I was impressed that they were actually respecting the source material - doing pretty much what I'd do for a spinoff game: not invent entirely new major Houses from scratch, but focus on the second-tier minor Houses that we rarely hear about, bannermen to Houses like the Glovers. And I was excited that they actually picked a House name that actually exists in the books (a "House Forrester" was mentioned as bannermen of the Glovers in ADWD).

Also sometimes it gets confusing to distinguish "major House" (Umber, Karstark, Glover) from "minor House" (Cassel, Poole, etc.) -- maybe it would have been better to call them "Barons" or something, and the major Houses "Lords"...but that's near 20 years water under the bridge at this point.

I know you don't write for the game but I didn't know if the other writers had at least mentioned, "yeah we're going to work in mentions about the Forresters in Season 5". They do something similar with the tie-in game for the SyFy series "Defiance" - David J. Peterson also created the alien languages for that show. The main live-action show will make stray references to characters from the game now and again.

We've learned in the World book that Meraxes had "silver scales with golden eyes" - was Meraxes solid silver, or did it have gold as a secondary color along its horns and spine? Balerion was black with red highlights. What color was Vhagar?

Also from Yi Ti section of the World book, I can't wait to see the historical drama about Lo Doq, of the Scarlet Emperors. "Is there anyone in Si Qo who has not slept with my daughter?!?!" -- outstanding.

Re: Canon status?
All I really control is what is "book canon" (the novels and the Dunk & Egg stories and the worldbook). It's up to HBO and David & Dan to determine what is "TV canon."

The Telltale guys worked with Ty Franck, who was my right hand here for half a decade.

Just finished the first episode. Easily as good as their superb Walking Dead game. Engrossing from beginning to end.

Telltale's got me addicted with The Walking Dead game. I'm still traumatized by my decisions towards the end of season one.

Been expecting this one for quite a while. From what I read from the reviews, it was worth the wait. Purchasing season pass to my PS4.

Thank you for another extension of the Ice and Fire saga!

Cheers from Brazil (come visit us, uncle Martin!)

While I desperately want this game, I think I'll wait to but the full season in one go. Something in me objects to paying per episode. Looks amazing though, Telltale seem to have done an amazing job yet again.

Played though last night
I've never played a Telltale game before, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I downloaded the game last night- but, WOW, this really captured the feel of Game of Thrones.

The story was well done and very true to not only the spirit of the show, but to the books as well. I'm now very impatiently waiting for the next episode! Great work by all involved. :)

Telltale Game
Have you played the first episode of this Telltale game, George? I just finished it and I can finally say for certain that I would not last too long in Westeros.

Since there is people commenting about star wars I will ask something directly to you George, I saw somewhere that you kinda helped with the chewbacca concept with one tale of yours with a creature that kinda inspired George Lucas to create it, is it true?

John Schoenherr, one of the great SF artists, painted a cover for a story of mine called "And Seven Times Never Kill Man." Whether his art had any impact on Lucas or his designers, or whether they even saw it, I couldn't say... but the look is certainly similar.

Telltale Game
Ice & Fire is so rich, why focus on the main plot line already being worked by HBO?! I mean, why not a game about the Baratheon take over? It would be truly great!
An open map game, like the assassin's creed series or Red Dead Redemption, that would be so amazing! They have The story, just need the guts to do it. Maybe you could persuade then Mr. Martin :)

House Forrester
Hi, Are the words of the house "Iron from Ice" your own George? Or are they purely a Telltale concept? Did you have any specific input at all regarding this game or is it outside invention?

I have to admit that I have really enjoyed what I have played of it so far.

All games about aSoIaF has amazing story and dialogs, but one moment is spoiling good impressions - very poor graphic realization. It's related to this game, and CYANIDE RPG game also. Now computer game come far away from ugly faces of characters and poor environment. Should we hope to see something with more close to modern computer graphic like The Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim and Dragon Age 3 : Inquisition? These Games has rich virtual world, which load players very deeply in story.
