We Got It!

Just got off the phone with Jon Bowman, the booker at the Jean Cocteau Cinema.  Jon just got off the phone with Sony.

THE INTERVIEW will open at the Cocteau on Christmas Day.  Four shows: 2pm, 4:30, 7pm, and 9:30.

We were otherwise going to be closed on Christmas.  We're opening just for this film, and will devote the whole day to it.

We have booked a full run, so THE INTERVIEW will continue to run for two weeks, in rotation with the other films that we had already committed too before this all broke.

We may schedule some midnight shows if there's enough demand.

So come join us, and celebrate Christmas... and free speech... with Seth Rogen.

CHRISTMAS EVE ADDENDUM: All four of our Christmas Day showings are completely sold out.  Tickets for the Friday shows are going fast, and those will probably sell out as well.  We are adding extra shows on Saturday to accomodate the demand.

Congrats George
Sounds like something that will sell out pretty quick.

Will "Santa R. R. Martin" make a special appearance?

Re: Congrats George
Are you sure you want that? That Santa only brings pain and death to your favorite characters instead of presents.

Thank you Mr. Martin. Will definitely make it to SF to see the show. For free speech. And the popcorn. Mostly the popcorn.

Hey George, I have a friend in North Korea and he told me they also forbade you from giving us Winds of Winter! :-)

So happy to hear this. I have been following this story and your words on this matter somewhat closely. Happy to hear the film is coming to our corner of the country.

Well done sir and thank you.

Really happy to hear Sony coming to its senses (sort of) and that you're screening it! I'd definitely come watch it there if I lived within 100 miles, but sadly as a Florida cat I cannot.

I feel bad for the employees who had to change their Christmas plans so close to Christmas because they have to work now... I hope they're being compensated well.

don't worry
I think we ended up mostly w/ volunteers who weren't 'doing' a big Xmas thing anyway. We really only need 4 people per shift to run the theater, 5 if we have 2 on concessions. (I'm a Pagan, and when I worked retail, I didn't mind working on other religion's holidays because it meant more to them to be home for their holiday than it did for me).

Looks like we have a full theater all day and night, and the popcorn will keep poppin until we close.

George, good on you for being outspoken on this and for showing it. There may be some justice in this world left, after all.

All the Wild Cards books under Tor have had absolutely stellar covers. I'd frame them and hang them on my wall if I could.

Are all these examples digital artwork? It doesn't look like traditional oil on canvas. I miss the fantasy/sci-fi covers of the '70s and '80s. Even the paperbacks had amazing covers.

Whatever anyone can get their hands on is, I suspect, the right answer.

Any chance you could tell us who’s doing the cover art for Fire and Blood? And maybe when we can expect a glimpse of it. Thank you!
