DANCE Gets Covered

Okay, I may not have a book yet, but I have covers.

Here are the American and British covers for A DANCE WITH DRAGONS.

If I can deliver the book before the end of June, you'll see these in your favorite bookstore sometime this fall.

If I can't, well... you'll still see them eventually, I hope.

And here I thought that 'A Dance With Dragons' was just a codename for "the book I haven't come up with a title for yet."

Much love.

Sword Reflection
Does it seem to anyone else that there is a person's reflection in the sword? Blond hair maybe?

Covers - both good tho I do love dragons inordinately perhaps - don't stress - all good things come to those who wait - and have the patience to wait for something good - and I must say I love the anticipation - it's been awhile since an author has engaged my attention so thoroughly - usually I would plow through w/ much enjoyment novels by a particular author only to find out they had died some years previously and there would be no more glorious words forthcoming - so I repeat - don't stress - it's bad for yr health! And selfish bitch that I can be, I want you to live and write at least as long as I'm alive, thank you very much. hHen I'm dead you may do as you please.

Book Cover
Dear Mr Martin,

I would never judge a book by its cover. I just want to read “A Dance With Dragons” you’re not immortal and I so hope that you’ll have time to write much more. I beg you please make an end to your wonderful masterpiece

Great to see the cover designs for your much anticipated book. Now this is getting exciting!

Wow, beautiful art, for both. Simple, but effective.

Yay, covers! Looking good.

Here's something to let you know your work is appreciated. My long-time friend emailed me recently, and one of the things he wrote was:

So in college, you recommended Game of Thrones which is part of the Song of Ice and Fire series. About a year ago, going off your suggestion I picked up Game of Thrones and absolutely love the series. I have all four in hardcover. I also did my usual infection of my friends and got 3 more converts (who so far have gotten another 1 for themselves). I am surprised given that my friends are not exactly the reading crowd. Such a good series, I re-read all 4 books recently and just want to re-read them again. So if you have other suggestions in that vein, let me know.

I thought that'd be nice for you to read.

(And, all in good fun, this icon is just for you. ;)

(Edited for accidental misplacement of apostrophe, ack!)

Anything reminiscent of 1st Ed Game of Thrones is a big winner IMO
I like these covers and do not like anything that should be on a Harlequin Romance book.

Great covers, George! Like thousands of others, I'm eagerly looking forward to the next installment.

On a recent road trip, I listened to the 2006 podcast series you ran as FEAST was hitting the shelves. Thanks for keeping those available; they were quite a treat. With DANCE now nearer than ever, are you going to do more promotional podcasting, or has the podcast ship already sailed away forever?

(I'd love to see a sample chapter read by you show up on iTunes, for example.)

I will start reading the whole series again so they are fresh in my mind. Keep up the good work!

Just can't wait for a new book! But I'm sure it's worth waiting! ;)

*waves* *blushes* *pauses with fingers poised to type something intelligent....fails miserably*

I'd just like to say some of us are born to write and others to read. I am one of the latter, to which end I have dedicated my life (apart from the sticky bits) to reading as much as I can get my grubby paws and on making many huge sacrifices along the way(money, social life the usual) and as such I would urge you to make similar sacrifices with a view to getting that darned book finished!! LOL I have an empty space on my George R R Martin shelf that is getting awfully dusty!
Thanks for your undeniable contribution to my pleasure, long may you write.
