All Men Must Die...

... but only a few get to come back as the UNDEAD.

But hey, I'm one of them.

For all you Z NATION fans out there, and those who aren't (yet) too, my long-anticipated guest starring role as a rotting corpse is scheduled for the October 30 episode, "The Collector."

I hear a rumor that EW will have a clip from the show on line tomorrow.

No doubt Emmys will follow.

I wanna see a GRRM Walking Dead cameo, Greg nicotero would make you a zombie masterpiece

Now there's more "evidence" for the crazy fan theory that you're already done writing the series. :D

What shows (past, present, future) do you think you would most enjoy a guest role on?
Oct. 22nd, 2015 10:00 pm (UTC)
Oh, hard to say...

Before Z NATION, I had my SHARKNADO 3 appearance, and two cameos on BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. My GAME OF THRONES cameo ended up on the cutting room floor, alas.

As long as Zombie!George still would write... I'm sure we could come up with a payment scheme worthy of the tastes of the undead... what about we deliver brains from deserving donators like "America's got talent" contenders or Twilight fans or something like that... and the books still get finished? That would make Zombie!George really cool. ;)
Oct. 22nd, 2015 10:01 pm (UTC)
But what if it took quality brains for quality writing... then we would have to sacrifice some of the fans "For the Watch Author". ;D

A "Promise" of Spring?
Vs. A Dream of Spring? Mr. Martin, you sure know how to tease a hopeful fan base! But you know we'll take whatever we can get.

Do you have any personal recommendations when it comes to good zombie apocalypse stories, George? Film, books, comics, whichever.

I tend to avoid the subject due to overdose, but it can still be done well in the right hands.
Oct. 23rd, 2015 01:44 am (UTC)
The zombie apocalypse has been overdone... but if that's what you want, you can't beat WORLD WAR Z by Max Brooks (the book, not the movie).

Me, I'm old school, I like the nuclear holocaust stories. ON THE BEACH and ALAS, BABYLON were two good ones.

Also EARTH ABIDES, which was a disease apocalypse.

Oh, and Ward Moore's wonderful GREENER THAN YOU THINK. End of the world by grass.

All Men Must Die
Hey George, I was always curious to know what inspired you to come up with the phrase "All men must die"?
Oct. 23rd, 2015 10:49 pm (UTC)
Re: All Men Must Die
I'd be interested by that as well. I know George is a big fan of MEMORY, SORROW AND THORN by Tad Williams and it comes up in the very first chapter of the very first book ("Weep no more! All men must die - you, I, everyone. If we are not killed by youthful stupidity or ill luck, then it is our fate to live on like the trees: older and older until at last we totter and fall. It is the way of all things.")

I wonder if there are older antecedents though.
