Not Dead Yet

While it is strangely moving to realize that so many people around the world care so deeply about my life and death, I have to go with Mark Twain and insist that the rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

It was Sir George Martin, of Beatles fame, who has passed away. Not me.

He will be missed. I never met Sir George (I did meet Paul McCartney once, for about a minute, while waiting for the valet to bring my rental car up at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills), but like many millions of others, I loved the Beatles, and Martin's contribution to their music is worthy of recognition and honor.

In his memory:

As for me, I am still here, still writing, still editing, still going to movies and reading books, and I expect to hang around for quite a while yet, thank you very much.

But thank you all for caring.

So, did Lennon sing about the bear and the maiden fair?
A local news channel JUST talked about the death of George Martin, the music producer, with YOUR picture on it. See https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CdJiRmoWIAAcRL0.jpg

You know..I'm sure Paul has told that story many times "Mate, I actually met George R.R. Martin once! He was waiting for his car at the valet, we stood their together for a whole minute! He wouldn't tell me what happens to Jon Snow either!"

In my country, the journalists hasn't read this entry. They put a photo of you in the news. What a shame.

Jets and stuff
I knew it was Sir George (I agree a great man) but no matter it's always good news to know you woke up alive. Now to the important stuff, where is Ryan Fitzpatrick playing next year? The Jets need somebody.

Morning news

Well, I guess it's up to Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney to finish writing the song of Ice and Fire book series. I eagerly await the next release :D

I had a panic when I saw the hashtag and then gave my friend a hard time for not clarifying! She's a ASOIF fan too, she should have known better! :o

I just hope that you find fun your work on "Game of Thrones" until the end. If you're proud of each and every one of the words you write will be the best ending for Westeros.

Whatever you do, have fun.

Death Rumors
Its ridiculous that people would mistake the Beatles George Martin for George RR Martin. By the way, I was wondering how you found time to do all the writing you did while playing defensive end for the Giants?

Re: Death Rumors
I had a great career with the G-Men, didn't I? Remember that time I ran back an Elway pass for a touchdown...

Yeah. I googled that name when I saw the death notice too. I figured it wasn't you since Sean Lennon was making the notice and while you do get to hang out with a lot of famous people, I just don't see you and Sean borrowing sugar from each other.

But the Monty Python reference is wonderful.

Thank God for that!
Being a voracious reader myself (30-50 books per year), I'm incredibly grateful for the world you've created. This has been the most engaging experience I've had as a lifelong fan of reading. My experience meeting you would probably be like you meeting Paul. I'd babble very excitedly and probably not make much sense. But from the safety of my keyboard, I can state the following very clearly. You're the best writer of my lifetime and I thank you deeply for your contribution to literature. This series will go down in history as one of the greatest of all time.

You're the man George.

Hmm, but can we take your word on that?
I think you should prove you're not dead by releasing a new book, okay? ;)

Just joking George, you take as long as you need. And must have been fantastic meeting Paul Mccartney, was he as lovely as he appears?

I'm so used to your middle initials being used for distinction that it didn't occur to me to fear the worst when I saw the news, but I can see how the initial confusion might've happened. ;)
