Season 6 Is Coming

GAME OF THRONES is coming back. Mark down Sunday, April 24 on your calendars.

HBO has released the first full-length trailer. Here's a taste:

And yes, it's true. After last year's unfortunate leak, HBO is not sending out any press screeners this year, to try and cut down on the piracy.

They have also eliminated all the regional premieres, including (sob) the one we had scheduled at my own Jean Cocteau Cinema. This year the only premiere will be the big one in LA at Grauman's Chinese.

The Jean Cocteau will, however, go ahead with our season 5 marathon. Admission is free, so watch our website and newsletter for show times.

And we'll all just have to wait to see what season 6 has in store.

Yara Greyjoy in the trailer
A quick question, ser, which has stirred some debate: it seems that Yara is the one kissing a whore in the trailer. Book-Asha is indeed sexually active and adventurous. Is book-Asha bisexual and you just haven't mentioned it directly? (was it implied?) --- other theory is that she's just messing around to get some men excited -- similar to how she messed around with Theon by pretending she didn't know he was her brother and let him feel her up.

I ask because over on the GOT Wiki's "in the books" section or in the trailer description we posted I've written these speculations out, but if it was simply clarified "Martin directly stated Asha's sexually interested in both men and women, it just wasn't overtly stated in the text" that would resolve all of this quickly.

P.S. I sure hope they explain the absence of the Pink Letter and how they can possibly explain the plot logic of having the mutiny due to letting wildlings through the Wall....*after* letting them through the Wall in the first place. But I digress.

Some flashbacks in the trailer as well, which we'd been hoping for in past seasons: we looked for these men at the Trident, but they weren't there.

Re: Yara Greyjoy in the trailer
I have a number of lesbian and bisexual women in the novels (and a couple who experiment), but Asha is not one of them. Unless I am forgetting something...
