Jets Game?

Jets Game? What Jets game?

Did the Jets play a game? On Monday Night Football, you say?

Surely not.

Those were not the Jets. That was the Weehawken High School Junior Varsity dressed up in Jets uniforms, surely.

The hardest hit of the night was the one the security guys put on the streaker.

Oh, well. Bryce Petty came in and showed flashes. That was something. One nice long TD pass... and a lot of misses. We'll see him the rest of the way, I am told. Good. Maybe with some reps in practice, he can improve.

An APB has been put out for Gang Green's once heralded D.

(The Jets being the Jets, now that they have been officially eliminated from the playoffs, they will probably win a few meaningless end-of-season games, just to mess up their draft position).

Life is meaningless and full of pain.

Petty
R-E-L-A-X is exactly what Petty needs to do. He has the arm. No one questions that; but he does need to settle the hell down. I can't place too much blame on him as he has not had many practice reps let alone game reps. I'm not sure the last 4 games will be an accurate representation of what Petty can do... but reps are reps and losses are not so bad at this point.

The Jets need an edge rusher and Myles Garret looks pretty darn good. Question is will the Jets have a low enough position to get him? Taking a QB in the 1st round of this draft must be out of the question for the Jets... although it wouldn't be the first time a GM has reached.

At least you got Revis and his 70 million dollar contract! :) I don't know how much of his 39 million they still owe him, but I wonder if the Jets, deep down, regret that contract. They are going to need every penny they can muster to fix their team in the coming years.

Jets vs. 49ers= Hope
At least the 49ers aren't doing so well either these past few games. You think we'll get them Sunday night?

This game was so depressing I don't even know where we go from here. Mo and Revis are not showing up to play at all, even though they have the biggest contracts on the field. We have three quarterbacks who are all very likely not the future of this team. Our secondary is a MESS. Blown coverage all over the place. And nobody seemed like they even wanted to be out there.

I've only been a Jets/football fan for 2 years now. Is this the lowest the franchise has ever been? I know they say that to be a Jets fan is suffering, but has the team ever looked THIS bad?

I was not impressed by this at all. It took him so many tries to get it right, it was like throwing a dozen darts against the wall until you finally get a bullseye. I was on the Petty Hype Train earlier this season, but right now he just seems like Fitz with a better arm.

Oh, the team has looked worse than this. The Kotite years. 😩

I haven't watched too many Jets games, but I remember after watching them flatten the Bills at Buffalo early in the season I thought they looked like contenders.

I could tell from the first couple of series last night that the team is tuned out. I wonder if Todd Bowles could be on the hot seat? He over achieved last year and seems to have done the opposite this year.

hopeless niners
George, I think this year's version of the Niners is incapable of putting up a fight against the Jets. While that is good for next year's draft, it is incredibly painful to watch a team that was so good for so long play incredibly terrible football. I only survive because of the Warriors and Giants.

Still looking for a way to trade the owners. Jets 24, Niners 0

If it's any consolation, this draft is considered fairly weak. Only 1 QB in Kiper's top 25 and he's a junior who may not declare anyway. So... even if they do bugger up their position it shouldn't hurt THAT much?

I was mainly wondering where their defensive line went. Wilkerson, Richardson and wossname.. USC dude, Leonard... Williams? The three of them are supposed to be world-wreckers, no? And yet Luck, who's been getting murdered behind the scrubs on the Colts O-Line this year, had all day to throw. Baffling.

Tood Bowels?
I have been an Arizona Cardinals fan since 1981 (St. Louis then) but I have always liked the Jets below them, since the days of Kenny O'brian and Al Toon (my personally favorite I am only 37). I have a lot of respect for Todd Bowels and know his style very well.
I think he is a good coach and a great guy (but alas has nothing to do with profession choices).
But even I can't get behind him not starting Bryce Petty sooner. Yes once in a great while, you get a Dak. But I don't think 4 games is enough to get a great feel of a young QB. I would have liked to see 6-8 games honestly.
4 games, if he shows flashes - that can't convince the jets not to draft (QB class looks bad in college upcoming draft) or sign a veteran QB, if he isn't that good with all the problems and issues the jets have - how can that be his fault? To me, it would be like pulling a fan fiction writer of fantasy off the street and ask him to finish your books that you are retiring to the virgin Islands to expose them to New Mexico green chili. That has to be a lot of pressure on a rookie QB

Sorry for the ramble. Should Todd Bowels be fired? and on top of that do you think he will be? What do you think of the prospect of signing Culter or Romo next year? I don't see how that makes the Jets a playoff team next year personally.

I think Bowels should be fired personally. The team has stopped responding to him. I think it is time for a free approach and filter some of the older vets out.

Someday
Someday spring will come and end the Jets' decades long winter...

But for now let's revel in the decade-plus long summer that the Patriots are having!!!

At least
Hey, at least you're not a Carolina Panthers fan. I'll always root for my home team, but dang do we stink this year.

I can only assume...
...that the 1986 Season (culminating in that gut-wrenching 2OT loss to the Browns in the playoffs) inspired the Red Wedding...

To bad for B Marsh...
The worst part of the JETS fall from mediocrity is to see Brandon Marshall having to try to continue to be a #1 receiver when clearly he doesn't have the body for it anymore. Would have been great to see him opposite Decker or someone like him, maybe he could have had a year like the last with some help. As it stands, I wonder if he will retire and become more of a commentator. He was the reason I rooted for the Jets. Fitz is officially useless at the point, I think he lost faith along with everyone else.

"Life is meaningless and full of pain"
If only you could experience being a Browns fan.
Pain is the game in the factory of sadness.
