Question for a different topic.
We both share an allegiance to the New York Football Giants. I am curious to know your thoughts regarding their decision with Victor Cruz. I have been hoping that he could get back to his old production, do you think his best days are behind him? My dream of autumn would have him and OBJ complimenting each other on the field.

Thanks for all that you do for the literary and entertainment world. Huge fan of ASOIF!

Chronicles of Amber
I think a part of me will always be sad there won't ever be a new Zelazny novel. He was such an underrated genius, of all the sci-fi greats he was my favorite.

Do you know if a Chronicles of Amber tv adaptation will ever happen?

Re: Chronicles of Amber
"Ever" is a big word.

You never know about any TV adaptation, until and unless it actually begins to air.

RE: Re: Chronicles of Amber
It definitely is, I probably shouldn't throw it around so lightly.

I'd love to see Zelazny get wider recognition, and if they could pull off Chronicles of Amber it would be stunning. Although I'd be very sad if they didn't do it justice. But it seems like such a fertile time for television right now that it seems like there could be a chance.

Croyd's always been a favorite of mine of the characters in the original series. I'm not surprised he's Roger's creation.

How is the Sleeper still alive?
How is it that the Sleeper hasn't drawn the Black Queen despite decades of rebooting his infection over and over again?

Re: How is the Sleeper still alive?
He's been doing this for a LONG time now, he's one of the original victims of the virus. As I believe Tachyon said one time, his body appears to know what it is doing.

Add to that my personal opinion: he doesn't 'actually' get re-infected each time, so he may not even have odds of drawing a Black Queen. We don't fully understand his wild card ability, it might not work the way an infection does. In fact, at this point in time (again, this is my personal opinion) it's pretty unlikely that he ever WILL draw a BQ, given what the odds of doing so are. If he hasn't by now, then he's not going to.

Re: Roger Zelazny and The Chronicles of Amber
"Developed" is the key word there.

They call it "development hell" for a reason.

Mostly it means "maybe."

Love Croyd
I hope he makes the cut for the TV show. He has an awesome sense of humor and so many options since he's always redrawing a wild card. He's also got a killer chivalrous/do-gooder element to him even though it's behind a lot of rough edges. Thanks for the heads-up!
