Hap, Leonard, and Joe

JOE LANSDALE will be returning to Santa Fe on Monday, and we'll be having fun times at the Jean Cocteau Cinema.

We'll be doing an advance screening of the second season premiere of HAP & LEONARD, starring (as one of my fans pointed out) Mark Antony and Omar. Mucho Mojo! The first season was great fun, and I expect the second season will be as well.

But don't take my word for it. Come see for yourself. Admission is FREE.

Joe will introduce the episode, and take questions afterwards.

And hey, OF COURSE he will be signing books as well.

Should be a hoot and a half. Don't miss it.

(And keep an eye out for our forthcoming author events as well -- John Scalzi, Connie Willis, John Nichols, and H.P. LOVECRAFT! Getcha tickets now!)

Did I mention that admission is FREE?

Hey George, if we were casting GoT again, who would James Purefoy be perfect for?

Re: Hap-py
Willas or Garlan Tyrell I reckon.. possibly even Darkstar, but alas, characters are cut :( Of those who remain, Renly or preferably Daario Naharis (by Boash' lost eyes the two Daarios they cast were terrible). Just my two cents :)

Crow's Eye was a disappointment as well but not due to bad casting, otherwise he might've made a decent Euron ;)

EDIT: I know exactly who Purefoy would be perfect as. Aurane Waters! Throw on a blond wig and some green contacts and he's good to go.

Re: Hap-py
I was hoping for a reunion of James Purefoy as Euron Greyjoy with Ray Stevenson as Victarion Greyjoy. And Kevin McKidd as Jon Connington, on a whole other storyline.

Alas, 'twas not to be. God, I wish HBO hadn't cancelled ROME before its time was done.

Re: Hap-py
Kevin McKidd would make an excellent Con Man Connington. Propably not "seasoned" enough but that's easily fixed with some makeup. +1

If we can ever afford...
... to fly out to the States again (last time we did, it was only me, my husband and our daughter - since then, we got 3 sons :D), I HAVE to visit the Jean Cocteau Cinema. I am always jealous when I read about all the cool movie nights that happen there. And, of course, I'd hope to meet you and talk to you ;)

If HP himself will be ambulatory and speaking at his event I will make the cross country trip to attend coz I will have all sorts of questions for him. Not so much about his work, mind you, but questions! How much would the tix be for that one? (assuming he will actually be some sentient and speaking version of "alive" for it)

He is alive and ambulatory, and he LOVES to answer questions. That's his main thing, in fact. Just go to YouTube and enter "Ask Lovecraft" and you'll see.

I'd seen Ask Lovecraft on YouTube before. Took me by surprise when his latest video mentioned he'll be at the Jean Cocteau theater on Thursday and Friday.

I thought Lovecraft stuck purely to the internet these days.

Free admission but ~30 hour travel time by plane :( If it were closer, I'd have been there in a heartbeat.

Also, who in the heck is the mysterious ward at Rosby??

Anyways, hail the Merling King!

Ice and fire dystopia
What do you think about dystopias? Is ASOIAF a medieval dystopia?
