Why do you like the skull smasing, incestous pedophiles in this series I wonder? Could it be because you like to see the bad guys get their heads bashed in?

Well what about in real life? George Bush has protected our country so well...not a single terrorist attack in seven years. Why can't you say he has done a good job?

Is it soooo cool to bash the defenders of America? Or do you believe that America had it coming?

What about Obama do you like? That he will steal the money from the people who have invested their time and money to become wealthy?

That he will force businesses to pay for health care when no where in the constitution is such a measure implied (yes I have read it...many times)

That he will support promiscuity through abortion?

That he will let our country be over run by illegal aliens?

Sure it is easy to say he will fix things...too easy to say. How about the things he will break, and break things he will.

America is free through proactive defense of our country
America is prosperous through capitalism
America is inclusive not because of focusing on race, but because of ignoring race.

Tonight, I am proud.

A great day indeed, may many more follow it.

It hasn't sunk in yet. We created history.
Nov. 5th, 2008 07:47 am (UTC)
We're LIVING this history! Yee-haw!
Nov. 5th, 2008 07:21 am (UTC)
Congratulations, America. I'm from the Philippines but this election profoundly affects us (and the entire world) in so many ways. We're celebrating with you.

This is a Patronus memory.

Awww... <3 Somehow, I really love this expression. I've never seen "Patronus memory" used outside the canon (the Potterverse, I mean). It's really cool :)

And your state even went for Obama, George!
Thankfully I can say the same about my state, too. For the first time in a long time, I'm truly proud to say the words, "I am an American."
Plus, I think we all know who Ned Stark would have voted for^^;;
Nov. 5th, 2008 07:29 pm (UTC)
Come on, Ned Stark would vote for McCain!

Yay. Instead of an old, white liar-in-chief in the pocket of corporations who doesn't like minorities, we get a young, black liar-in-chief all for killing babies. Let's throw a party.

I dunno, man, we could use a thrilling round of "We Are the Champions".

Also on a semi-related note, I would just like to thank you, GRRM. So frequently when I find out about the personal lives of my favorite authors, I am utterly disenchanted with them and no longer able to read their work because I find out they're sexist, bigots, or just plain crazy. But reading your blog has just made me adore you all the more. So, thanks man. For not just being a good author, but also an all-round cool guy.

I concur.

Oh I'm so glad that you people elected Obama. I sincerely believe that these times are history in the making, history which will profoundly alter our social, economic and political system. With the two main economic and social systems of our era having failed (communism and capitalism), it is time for a new system, or no system at all. And such change demands a leader who will make the choice. I am not sure that Obama has the magnitute to rise to the circumstances, and how much willpower he has to make a stand against all those denying change, but I will show trust for one last time. I just honestly hope that he will survive long enough to build the foundations of a new world.

Still soaking it in...
Is it real?
Did it really happen?
I need to sleep on it.

Nice use of the Mitch Miller, by the way...

All the Wild Cards books under Tor have had absolutely stellar covers. I'd frame them and hang them on my wall if I could.

Are all these examples digital artwork? It doesn't look like traditional oil on canvas. I miss the fantasy/sci-fi covers of the '70s and '80s. Even the paperbacks had amazing covers.

Whatever anyone can get their hands on is, I suspect, the right answer.

Any chance you could tell us who’s doing the cover art for Fire and Blood? And maybe when we can expect a glimpse of it. Thank you!
