Very happy for the Americans, very optimistic about the future. I stayed up all night watching this, I'm glad I didn't have to work today.

UK based reader here:

The atmosphere in the drop-in centre for humanities students, (where I work) is one of 'Thank God, Thank Fuck, Thank Anyone, Finally'.

Canada is more than pleased, I am sure of that.

I've been following Obama since the beginning of the primaries, it's wonderful to see all that hope come to fruition. I really hope that things really change for the better; for the first time in my adult life, I'm optimistic about the future.

Change is upon America.

Perhaps a situation with Dance will change soon as well? :)

Thanks for the books. They are great.

Respect
Please respect those of us who are very saddened that John lost. Some of us have been looking up to that man for a long time. My brother received his appointment to West Point from John. As much as this site is yours, it is much more about the fans of your books. Not all of us are happy this Wednesday morning. Please be kind. While Obama may prove himself better in the long run, none among us can foresee the end of all roads.

And please acknowledge that McCain's concession speech was magnificent. While his best days may be behind him, he is still as honorable and principled as any politician on this planet.

Re: Respect
I've not seen a lot of "Yah boo sucks" directed at John McCain - and everyone I've heard has praised his speech (I especially thought the way he immediately reacted to people booing Obama was pure class). In fact, a lot of people have said that the John McCain who gave that speech may well have won.

Why am I still scared, though? I still keep expecting something to go wrong. I guess the past eight years have conditioned me.

Praise God!
Not only have we elected a good man, but we have elected a man who really IS about change.

I am a Canadian who has been watching the American elections more closely than my own country's these past few months. I was just as anxious for the results as anyone living in the States. I still can't believe he actually won...I am truly stunned and elated. Despite the state of the US, there is finally some hope.
Happy days indeed.

Congratulations!!!
From around the Globe, a mighty hearty cheer for your nation, whose citizens have finally managed to get rid of that brainless wonder and his cronies in the white House. You have elected a fine, honourable and most of all intelligent person to be your leader. And have put other nations to shame.

All our best to you and your friends who have a very trying and challenging time ahead. At least now you have a leader who is deserving of the great honor and responsibility.
Almost kills the cynic in me - or shrinks it at least.

LOVE AND GLORY TO YOU ALL!!
WOOT WOOT WOOT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

All the Wild Cards books under Tor have had absolutely stellar covers. I'd frame them and hang them on my wall if I could.

Are all these examples digital artwork? It doesn't look like traditional oil on canvas. I miss the fantasy/sci-fi covers of the '70s and '80s. Even the paperbacks had amazing covers.

Any chance you could tell us who’s doing the cover art for Fire and Blood? And maybe when we can expect a glimpse of it. Thank you!
