He's left his successor a quagmire almost unparalleled in American history; two wars, the worst economy since the Great Depression, an eviscerated Bill of Rights, a bleeding Constitution, an international reputation that could hardly be lower. President Obama is going to have his work cut for him to repair all the wounds Bush inflicted on the nation. I think he is equal to the task, but it won't be easy.
Today's ceremonies made a good beginning. The road back home is a long one, but we've taken the first step.
